COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE — Lausanne 10 décembre 2013 Depuis 2007, WHEN ICARUS FALLS joue un post-metal slalomant entre le contemplatif et le brutal en se foutant bien des étiquettes. Après un mini - album en 2009, et un premier long nommé AEGEAN en 2012, ils reviennent le 4 février avec un nouvel EP: CIRCLES. L'occasion pour eux de repartir sur la route au printemps 2014 pour une série de concerts. CIRCLES Enregistré par Raphaël Bovey au Studio Blend pour les percussions et au local de When Icarus Falls pour les guitares et voix, CIRCLES s’inscrit dans la droite lignée des albums précédents. Entre passages ambiants rappelant le premier EP - OVER THE FROZEN SEAS - et riffs lourds faisant écho à la fin dantesque d’AEGEAN, cette suite ravira les amateurs du genre. CIRCLES se démarque toutefois par son dynamisme et son efficacité, par ses ambiances riches et complexes ainsi que par l’exploration de nouvelles sonorités. A noter également que cet EP comporte une version inédite et remixée de NYX (Compilation Falling Down II, 2010). TOURNEE EUROPEENNE Du 25 avril au 10 mai 2014, WHEN ICARUS FALLS sera sur les routes pour une tournée à travers l’Europe. Une occasion de venir découvrir en live CIRCLES, et surtout une ultime opportunité de voir le groupe avant une longue pause, qui devrait amorcer un changement de cap artistique.

MEDIA RELEASE — Lausanne, December 10th, 2013 Since 2007, WHEN ICARUS FALLS play a heavy post-metal throughout Europe without any consideration for a genre whatsoever. After an acclaimed EP in 2009 and a long one in 2012 called AEGEAN, they're coming back on February 4th with a brand new EP: CIRCLES. After that, they'll hit the road for a couple of shows during Spring 2014. CIRCLES. Recorded by Raphaël Bovey at Blend Studio for the drums and at WIF's rehearsal room for guitars and voices, CIRCLES. is in the direct continuation of the previous albums. Between hazy atmospheres reminding the first EP - OVER THE FROZEN SEAS - and heavy riffs echoing AEGEAN's grand final, this new episode should delight fans of the genre. CIRCLES. suprises however by its dynamism, efficiency and its rich and complex atmospheres. It benefits also from the exploration of new sounds. The EP will also include a gorgeous remix of NYX which was previously released on the Falling Down II compilation in 2010. EUROPEAN TOUR From April 25th to May 10th, 2014, WHEN ICARUS FALLS will be back on the road for a last european tour. A good opportunity to discover CIRCLES, and a last chance to see the band live! They'll take a long break after that.

Project
After several weeks of silence, we're slowly back to work. We recently released a videoclip to the track "Acheron/Eumenides" which was quite a perfect match between our music and the artistic vision of Julius Kleipool. Last but not least, after playing shows in Strasbourg (F) and in Martigny (CH), we will play Friday 17th May at Fri-Son - Fribourg (CH) with Abraham and Drawers. Looking forward to it!
